The cost of commissioning bespoke jewellery is dependent on the materials used and the time taken to design, make and finish the pieces or pieces.
Where a bespoke item is based on a stock design, the time involved will be less, and the cost easier to determine. The price of a commission made to an entirely new design can be determined in two ways. Either you can set a budget for us to work to, or we can discuss ideas about what you want and the design process will help to determine the budget. This service encompasses a longer design process, artwork, and other set-up costs in addition to the experience, originality, craftsmanship and precious materials we bring to all our pieces, and this means that a commission does cost more than a stock item or a bespoke piece adapted from a stock design. We will tell you the cost of your item as soon as we know your requirements.
When a commission design has been agreed, a deposit of 50% of the total cost is required to proceed, (please see Terms & Conditions for more information on purchasing). There are no additional costs apart from postage and packaging which is free for orders over £100. VAT is not charged. Whatever you opt for you can be assured that Jesselina jewellery will give you value for money. Each piece is individually designed and hand-crafted in the UK from the best materials to give the wearer years of pleasure, and quality is assured by the presence of a Hallmark.
If you are thinking of giving a commission as a gift, you may need to enlist the help of the family and friends of the recipient to get the details we need to create the perfect piece.
Alternatively, it may be easier to give a Gift Voucher, which gives the recipient the freedom to participate in the design process, and lasts six months from the ‘valid from’ date. A Gift Voucher is also perfect if you need a great gift in a hurry! Complete and submit the following form to order a Gift Voucher.
Please bear in mind that each piece is individually hand-crafted so, depending on the complexity of the project:

Some people choose jewellery by colour, and some choose favourite gemstones. We make jewellery in a wide range of colours and gemstones, and have outlined the colours and attributes of some of the most popular gemstones on the Materials page. If you find what you want there, simply let us know or, if you have something more specific in mind contact us to discuss the possibilities. Unless otherwise required, the metal used will be Sterling Silver. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a commission in any other materials.
Jesselina bracelets and bracelet watches are generally made to be adjustable between 170-210mm, and most feature a clasp with chain and a decorative fob. Some bracelets are threaded on stretchy
Elastomer and can simply be slipped on. Bangles, whether circular or
oval need to be able to slide comfortably over the knuckles.
We produce a wide variety of earring styles at Jesselina. When choosing – do bear in mind that face shape plays an important part in whether or not a particular earring style will suit you, or your gift recipient. Broadly speaking, there are four basic earring styles:
Each can accentuate and enhance features or balance areas you wish to downplay. For example, as with clothing, vertical lines in earring styles will draw the eye upwards and visually elongate features. Horizontal lines will draw the eye from side to side and accent the width of the face.
The length, or drop, of the earrings also plays a part in whether or not a style suits a particular face shape – Jesselina earrings can be anything up to 60mm long – or longer, if you like! However, the average is about 20mm (¾") to 30mm (1¼").
There is quite a variety of earring fittings to choose from, and we generally favour:
However, if you would prefer something else, such as screw-back or clip-on fittings for non-pierced ears – just let us know.
The optimum length for a necklace depends on several things – what it will be worn with, or personal preference, for example. At Jesselina we make necklaces to a variety of lengths. Here is a guide to average lengths:
If you don’t already know the length required for your bespoke necklace, either measure a current favourite, or knot a length of string at one end and bring the other end round to meet the knot and adjust the string so that it sits where you’d like the necklace to be. When you’re happy with the adjustments, knot the other end to mark the preferred length, and measure between the knots.
Remember, though, that this will only represent a single strand necklace. If you want more strands, use this method to determine the length of the shortest, and let us know how many more strands you’d like.
Also, the measuring string will show how a circular necklace will sit. If you’re ordering a pendant, remember that the necklace will fall into a ‘v’ with the weight of the pendant – and you will also need to take into account the length (or drop) of the pendant itself.
Some of our rings are ‘open’ and should fit most finger sizes, but if you need to determine your ring size any high street jeweller should be able to measure your ring size free of charge. The jeweller will be able to give you the size as an alphabetical letter, which is the standard system for denoting ring sizes in the UK (see table below). This is the most accurate way to get the correct size.
Alternatively, you can wrap a strip of paper around your finger and mark where the two ends meet. Use a ruler to measure the length in millimetres, and use the table below to read off your ring size. (Please bear in mind, however, that finger sizes change with body temperature, and that you need to be able to get the ring on and off comfortably over your knuckles – so this method can be subject to inaccuracies!)

At Jesselina we use watchfaces which come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colours some of which you can see in our gallery pages and on the watches page. There are no ‘rules’ as to what style or size suits individuals – it really comes down to personal preference, and many clients have different watches for different occasions. In addition, the watch bracelets we make are widely varied – and the choice of style is yours to make!
These range from the simple ‘Linear’ pattern to more complex (and time-consuming!) ‘Ladder’ ‘Diamond’ and ‘Loop’ styles – all of which can vary enormously depending on the colours and sizes of the gemstones and metals used. Some styles can be combined in one bracelet, and we are designing new patterns all the time.

There are so many to choose from – plain and simple to fun and funky, and all suit most wrist and hand shapes. Smaller watchface cases tend to be plain circles and ovals, and generally Stainless Steel, which is slightly greyer than Silver. Larger faces are mostly Silver-plated or Gold-plated, or a combination of the two, and are also available in various colours, and shapes – from plain circles and ovals to hearts, rectangles, diamonds and daisies – almost any shape, in fact! Watch faces tend to be white, but are also available in a variety of styles and colours, and many have decorative details.
In general the most popular sizes range from 19mm circular and 23x19mm oval to larger circular faces averaging 25mm diameter, ovals 25x30mm. However, we are always adding new styles to our range – so there’s always plenty of choice.
